Neem tree belongs to the family Meliaceae and grows to a height of 15-20m. This is an evergreen plant that may rarely grow up to a height of 35-40m. During drought, the tree may shed its entire leaves. The branches of the plant are wide spreading in nature and may attain a diameter of 20-25m.

An Overview of Neem Oil

Neem Oil is obtained from the seeds of the neem tree. The oil appears red in colour and has a very strong odour. It is bitter in taste due to the presence of triglycerides and triterpenoid. As it is hydrophobic in nature, water is used to emulsify it.
